I was just wondering, should i invest in a headphone amp? its just im not sure about whether it would make a difference on my denon d550's or on my akg-k26p's though because i dont think they are headphones that require alotta "power" to drive them or that an amp would make much of a difference on these phones. i would appreciate any input on this, because i have been looking at building my self a cmoy amp if its worth it.

I wouldnt get one for the cans you have, but if its a DIY amp then it might be worth it for the future when you get bigger and better cans.

I have not noticed much, if any, of a differenece with my K26Ps amped or unamped. Once you get to a more demanding headphone (think DT880s), then get an amp.
