I going to be buying the Sony MDR-V6 headphones and I wan't to know if it is necessary to buy an amp or could i just plug the headphones into my 5 disc cd player?

I found my MDRV6 to sound more open and less closed-in with my millet. IMHO The warm coloration of tubes helps with the MDRV6 bright upper midrange. Amplification-wise, I found them very dynamic straight out of my denon 5.1 receiver.

So, an amp is not really needed unless youre looking for some way to color the sound.

ok good because the only amp i have is broke and I don't really have the money to buy a new one....hopefully for christmas I'll get one.
