Do dacs improve quality of piano music?

Rob Watts of Chord says the Hugo makes piano sound musical. See video from from around 7 mins to 9 mins:
 
 
Any thoughts on that or other dacs?

DACs can improve sound quality. They are, however, not the piece of the chain that makes the biggest difference. The recording itself and the headphones by far make a bigger difference in quality.

Only if whatever you're using has problems like low channel separation,audible noise, audible distortion with how it handles the analogue signal, too high or too low voltage of the line out signal going to the amp, etc. Between quality DACs the differences can be minute between one at $200 vs another at $1000.
