Hey guys, I figure someone here has to know the answer to this. But is DMB's Live in New York DVD and CD exactly the same? I want the music off of the DVD and I was afraid they might have cut some stuff out on the CD to save room and what not. I know the CD version is three cd's so it obviously has a lot of the music but I was curious as to if there was anything missing. If so, I'll just rip the music off the DVD, but that isn't the cheaper route at the moment as I don't have a DVD burner. haha. Thanks in advance for any help..

In most likeliness, the music from the DVD should be of a better quality than the CD version.

The CD Audio tracks are shorter than the DVD versions and the biggest thing that was cut was the onstage interactions between the band and the crowd as well as some shortening of the jam sessions. I can't say one way or the other about the recording quality of one vs. the other since I haven't done any side-by-side comparisons, but the CD's sound incredible to me and just as good as the DVD's FWIW.

Well honestly I wasn't worried *too much* about the recording quality of the music. I'm sure it was great and I don't really think I have anything high-end enough to bring out any errors in the recording. I was just curious as how much of the actual music and Dave acting dumb they cut out..
