New Head-Fier
The connectors I used were these MMCX ones, not sure what the exact model is but you can find them on aliexpress here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32705270684.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.55844c4dq8PqmU
Tools needed:
1. Screw driver set (Determine yourself what size philip screw will work best).
2. Wire cutters
3. Wire strippers
4. Soldering Iron with solder
5. Thin head pliers.
1. So you start off by removing the earpads by twisting them and they come off with the rings.
2. You unscrew these 4 screws and the whole speaker pops off from the back.
3. Then you unscrew these 4 screws and the wood pops off from the back leaving you with just the driver attached with the stock wire. Then you cut the wire at around roughly 6 inches (We will trim the wire further later).
4. Now leave the driver to the side and work on the headphone frame (MAKE SURE TO REMEMBER THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE DRIVERS. LEFT: Blue RIGHT: Pink). Pull and remove the stock wire along with the rubber piece. Then we work on the MMCX connector and install it.
5. Start off by unscrewing the nut on the connector and slide it in the hole. Make sure the washer is on the outside else the driver won't fit. Then screw the nut and use some thin pliers to screw it in. Go on until the nut is fully secured. Then you will have to bend the pin 90 degrees so that the driver fits in.
6. Now let's go back to the drivers. Take the drivers and pull the black wire through the hole. There will be some glue holding it so use a knife or blade to break the glue and the wire should be pulled easily. Then you undo the knot and pull the whole black sleeve leaving you with the bare brown and colored wires. If you think the wires are a bit long then feel free to short them. I did cut them a bit more. Then you take the wire and slide them back again through the hole.
7. Ok now comes the hard part, soldering the wires onto the connector. This will definitely require a lot of precision and time so don't rush it. What I did was I sat the frame onto the table and brought the wires closer to the connector. Then you take the brown ground wire and solder it to the outside of the connector (where the nut is). Then you solder the other wire to the 90 degrees pin. It will look something like this (I know I didn't go a good job soldering lol but everything still works so it's fine).
8. Now once the soldering is done on both drivers, you will then reverse steps 3 to 1. Screw the wood back, then the whole thing to the frame. The put on your pads and attach your MMCX cable and voila! You have yourselves a pair of TH-X00 with removable cables. The cable I'm using are the MMCX cable from Hart Audio Cables.
