I'm looking at making some speaker cables, I've even more or less picked the wire I'm going to use (Supra Ply 3.4, which is 3,4mm2).

My problem is, I'm finding it somewhat hard to find any good bananas locally. I've been looking at the QED bananas, but they seem to be claiming that the crimping tool required for them is proprietary... Anyone know if I'm mistaken and any old squeezer will do?

If the QEDs are not a possibility, I'd love to get some tips for good quality (preferably solder, but crimpable (?) ones are ok too) bananas that are available either here in Finland (hey, no harm in trying) or from nice reliable webstores inside the EU.

Thanks in advance,

/JF

I'm a fan of the solderless plugs.

I've got some that are french and have two screws that hold the cable in place. Sorry, but I dont know what the name is, they were only like 8 bucks a piece.

Good luck!

You could allways go for spades. Or then again, why terminate at all. There's screw posts for a reason
