I need another power supply cable for my HR DPS, but the HeadRoom version is kind of expensive. Is this something that I can easily DIY? I would just need a pair of 5-pin DIN connectors, right? And if so, what type of cable should I use?

Thanks!

Vincent,

Seriously, after you buy cable, the connectors and pay shipping you'll probably be into it for half the cost of the headroom cable and that's assuming you can find a vendor who has both and sells cable by the foot. My guess is that you'll find the connectors at Mouser and then have to order the cable from someone else. Then you'll still have to deal with assembling it and making sure that you get the pin assignments right. That's not mention making sure that you get the right 5-pin DIN (I think there are different pin spacings IIRC).

Now if you told me their cable cost $100 I'd be right there with you, but for $40 I'd probably just call them and see if they'd toss it in a padded envelope and ship it First Class Mail which should only run you $2 or $3.

My 2¢.
