DIY IEM Cable Replacement - need some help

    Please see the close-up pic of the cable end I want to splice on to an old Shure IEM E3. It is from a B&O IEM with the ends cut off because one end was bad.

    I'm not sure if the wires you see need to be stripped first? Also, will solder even work on these wires as they very fine like threads?

    Those look like laminated wires, The strategy is to burn off the lamination (on purpose) with the soldering iron- use a high heat setting and good ventilation and you should have no trouble soldering them.
