I bought some KSC35s and I really love them. Excellent sound quality. The only problem is that they get pretty uncomfortable after a while and I have to take them off after an hour or so of wearing them. I've had them for a few months now and still haven't developed any tolerance for them.

Is there a headband mod I could do to make them a bit more wearable? The clip ons seem easy enough to take off so it doesn't seem like it would be any problem to switch from headband to clips when needed.

you could stick your head in a vice w/the ksc-35s on your ears... that's what i suggested to my buddy who broke his headband and it works great.

buy sporta pros, they are basically KSC-35s with a headband.

I to have been wondering if anyone else has made a headband for the 35s. Sorry, but I don't have any information about it.

I would advise against getting the SportaPros--they will sound different when compared to the 35s, more bassy. I've never tried them but I own their close (and more refined, from what I've read) cousin, the PortaPros and their is quite a difference in sound quality. The PortaPros are really nice phones but their bass is muddy in comparision to the 35s, treble is more promenant as well. And the SportaPros are supposed to have even muddier bass than the PortaPros. All three phones share the same drivers (along with the Koss KSC 50, KSC 55) but they all sound different. Doing a search for each phone will get into more specific details.

Unless you are willing to perform a do-it-youself job I would advise you to look at the PortaPros and the KSC 55s. The 55s use the same drivers and construction as the KSC 50s (which are clip-on phones, like the 35s) but come with a street-style (behind the head) headband. The KSC 50s are nice sounding phones as well, but I can't vouch for the 55s. Their headband and the angle they set the phones on the ears may change the sound.

Hmmm...that reminds me. I really should get around to trying the 35s drivers on the PortaPro headband. Oh dear....

It is funny, though, that no one has tried this before....

I am sure that a lot of people here disagree with me on this, but I personally think that the KTX-Pros are decent headphones. They were my first pair of headphones that I used to replace stock phones. I thought they sounded pretty well for the price. However, after 2 years of heavy usage, they are gone so I can't compare them to my KSC-35s or the SportaPros. For the money you can't go wrong. If it turns out that you don't like them, it wasn't a huge investment.

I agree with you patrick..
the angle and placement of the ksc-55 alters the sound a little..
it's more airy in ksc 55 whereas ksc35 has tighter and more slamming bass.
So it depends on which one you like.

Ksc-35 with the hole mod is even better. However lately I have not paid much attention to my koss(dt880 is here)...
no wonder they clamped my ears and feel very uncomfortable.. retribution ?..
