So after receiving my SR60i's, I kept looking at the foam that came in the cardboard box and thinking it could be the beginning of a nice case, if I could find the right sized case. So today I'm cleaning out some stuff in my basement and come across a nearly perfectly sized plastic case that I used ot keep my mechanical drawing tools in back in high school and college.
The inside had some plastic pieces that I had to cut out, which leads to a little bit of ugliness, but functionally, its nearly perfect.
I took a piece of black felt and glued it to the bottom (made it better looking, possibly provides a little better protection), then placed the grado foam on top of that. Then I cut out some holes for my FiiO and iPod. there was a gap between the side of the case and where the Grado foam ended that was actually perfectly sized to fit misc. cables.
And then on top of that, I realized that the little hole where the cable to the Grados goes is actually perfectly sized to fit my Denon AH D1001's. The case ended up being just the perfect depth to fit the Denons in there without them rattling around.
I also took some extra foam I had to pad the other side of the case and cut out some disks to sit underneath the Grado drivers.
Unfortunately, I can't really fit any foam on either size of the Denons. Although they're held firmly in place, I wouldn't want them to get hit on either side, because they're just sitting next to the plastic.
Anyway, I am sure these pictures will explain it better than all of that did.
