Do you have the link for these shells?
Those shells are from the QKZ MDR earbud, you'll have to remove the drivers and cable from the shell to use it since the shell isn't sold by itself anywhere.

How do you guys tune PK1 shell? The horse shoe foam does not fit quite well.

I use thin HS but unfortunately they are no longer found, I still have them.
Try with white tuning paper (Y)
Yes, I wanted to check if the thin horseshoe was available again, but found that the option of the dense horseshoe has now disappeared as well. 🥴
Are there other shops to check other than XinYue and NSCAudio? I have bought all the tuning materials from them so far...

For me yes, the rest of the stores have high prices compared to the two you mentioned

Made a small experimental thing: open front cup(on photo) vs classic standart mx500 cup.

Sound: more warm, more natural, no brights, better extensions on highs
Awesome work right there man. This give me some idea :3
With the unmodded faceplate, i found the stack height (distance between the diaphragm and the inner side of the faceplate) can be too small. By doing this, it can introduce some new room to work on. Thanks for the idea lol

Hi All!

I got a bit burned out on earbuds for a while, so sorry for the absence. :triportsad:

That said, I'm wanting to put together a few buds using MX500 shell, and looking for good cables for it. I checked out an earlier suggestion, but they are no longer available.

What cables are people using that fit mx500 shell these days? Any suggestions? Maybe on the flashy side? I don't mind cutting off the connector as long as it will fit into the mx500 stem.

Xinhs cable for the most part. Specifically the 2 cores type (one that similar to Rikubuds upgrade cable) and the 4 cores cable, those that have the diameter of 1.2mm and less
