DIY DAC

Since I've finsihed the PIMETA, I'm looking for another DIY project. I'm thinking of some kind of DAC to get that bit perfect output. My iMac G5 has an optical out and I would like to convert that to a lineout, anyone know of any projects like that? I would also consider a USB dac.

hope this helps. also you will need time to research if your doing this from scratch take your time. from what i can see each diy dac offer's something diffrent..
