I have currently been graced by Rickcr42 him offering to build me a Cmoy to get me started in the whole DIY amp scene. He said that he can build a Cmoy using parts more suited to the cans I will be using.

I have another question though, what relitively simple DIY amp would do the 580's justace? Keep in mind here I have never built a single amp before, but I would like to get started in it and I am going to take Rick's advice and practace on some cheap boards and resistors first before diving into anything over my head. I just want to know for the future what would be a good build for these cans.

Also I am sort of the type that don't like to wait sometimes and if I find that Rick's Cmoy just is not pushing them the way I would like is there a commercial amp in the sub $200 range that would be better, or is thier a member that would build an amp in the same price range

Thanks for any help in advance,

Thanks MisterX,

That is the amp that I kind of thought was a good choice, but I really did not have that much info on it. Thanks for the link. Is this amp also a good choice if I were to upgrade in the future to a 650?
