How difficult is this to build? I have a good deal of experience with mechanical fabrication, so building the chassis is not a problem for me.

I know this may sound sacreledgious:
Is there a good "solder by numbers" guide for a building a 300B SET amp?

I want to hear other's experiences in building DIY300B amps.

Well even before you go down that road, is 300B even a sound you'll like or can use? Don't forget those tubes are also more expensive.

DIYCable has a nice monoblock pair kit here. Of course, you would need a preamp to use with them, and pick your tubes, and decide on parts upgrades, and....er, Lan is right

.

If I still had the K1000's, I'd definitely try them though. And who knows, maybe with an ASL Signature box they could power the R10's well too?

I was thinking he wanted to do a scratch build so i provided links to probably the most copied and documented 300B SET out there.

But a kit would be a good idea for a beginner , tube DIY is not the cakewalk opamp audio is and getting the layout right is far more critical even with step by step instructions

plus the troubleshooting stage is nothing alike

one you could maybe fry a chip

the other means your insurance better be payed up
