yeah basically i just wanted a basic economy style double. A trip to my local walmart arts and crafts store got me all my materials. After doing this i have a great appreciation for larry and his stands. They may seem expensive, but the materials and workmanship are really worth it. Basically i just hacked away, did a rough sand and then glued it.
.97 plaque, dollar something 7/8 dowel, $1.84 SQft smoke vinyl and 2 something glue craft glue.
predrilling went well but countersinking the woodscrew i found with a metal drillbit really messed up the bottom. oh well its the bottom and now it sits flush.
prolly the hardest part, sanding down a channel evenly using a rotary tool.
heres the final part with the vinyl used as an anti scratch coating. Alot cheaper than using leather. Cant really put headphones on it as the glue isnt dried. In the backround you can see my ghetto stand, it the stand for my rotary tool when im using the flexi-shaft.
