hey everyone, I recently acquired a pair of Dita Project M IEM and want to use it on the go with my phone. While I was impressed with the detail retrieval of this set, I acknowledge that it reacts quite differently to different sources so the pairing have to be perfect in order to have the best possible alchemy.

I'm looking for an amp-dac dongle under 300 USD. I feel like I'd like more warmth and thickness to the sound so I guess R2R should pair well with them. Also masculine voice seem to lack fullness and I'd like to correct that

For what I've seen, the Cayin RU7 seems incredible sonically but it's quite expensive and the high battery consumption might be a red flag for me.
Ibasso DC07 seems really good but I'm afraid it would be too «neutral» for what I'm seeking.
Ibasso DC04 pro seems to have an incredible sound for value according to reviews I've seen.
I'm curious about the Lotoo paw S2, haven't read much on it and it's quite expensive

Do some of you use those IEMs with a dongle ? what would be your suggestions ? I'm open to anything !
Is the RU7 incredible to the point I should top my budget price and accept the high battery consumption ?

Thank you for reading, I'm eager to read your suggestions !

Get the Onix Alpha... $109 w/o the case, but I'd say get the case.
Its what I have.
Can't beat the price or the combo.

Some caveats...
1) It draws some power from your source (phone) so that it may not work with all phones.
(see the Onix Alpha thread.) Note if you use a cable that splits the power into a second USB-A or USB-C plug, you can use an external battery.

2) Like all dongle dacs the USB-C socket is a weak point. Over time the connection will loosen.

Andy, one of the IEM YT reviewers recommended gluing a USB cable in... I've done this w a USB-C 4 cable and it works well.

I don't think you're going to find a good R2R portable dongle dac if you want to spend more... (over $300 get the iBasso DC Elite )

Thank you for your answer !

This is the exact dongle I bought and I'm not disappointed. The sound is perfectly fluid with great separation and amazing timbre ! Really for less than 500 Euros this IEM setup is ground-breaking !

I think the battery drain is really not that bad and the Onix surprisingly works perfectly with my Samsung A52s 5G. I thought there would be compatibility issues but it is not the case. Couldn't be happier
