for 20grms of foam, come guy, wake up!

Last order on shure foams cost me 36,75.
29,75 for the foams (including VAT) and 7 for the shipping.

seriously, they could have just put the foam in a regular envelope is saved you a ton on shipping

The thing is international shipping especially something like fedex is expensive, plus I'm sure about $10 of that charge is for all the paperwork they have to put together to send with it.

Sure they could have but again if they used fedex the pricing while expensive looks about right.

According to their policy they only send Fedex because they have a good track record????

But: no choice there for the customer. And at year end UE get their volume rabat on their total shipping volume with FEDEX. Nicely going.

I think I remember reading something here a while ago about UE changing their shipping policy to include non-FedEx options. Hopefully, it will happen soon.

To be honest, I recently received a pair of bigger foamies from Etymotic for free and they shipped it in an envelope, the shipping costs were pretty low.

BUT I have to say that UE has a very good customer support. They were very very helpfull and patient in answering all my questions before ordering the UE10s. Together with Etymotic I have yet to see a better customer support.
Have you contacted them already? I guess if you contact them directly they may arrange something for you as they seem to regard every customer as special, be it the professional musician or the usual head-fier *g*.
I can only guess why they prefer FedEx shipping, but if you read e.g. gsferraris problems with USPS, you might get an idea why they're so picky about their carrier.

Ciao,
Marcus

Wel today I have contacted them for a request for normal mail shipping, but up to now they didn't even bother to answer my mail, or is the US having a banking holiday today?

Yesterday I also contacted 2 of their distributors here in europe via their website.... guess what... no answers up to now.

I am having Bad experiences here with this company!!!

I had the same problem but had a fellow head-fi'er recive them in america and then resend them to me. Saved me a bundle. Before that I contacted a couple of US resellers and they all told me that they would start selling tips and cables at a later date, and deliver via low-cost USPS.
But I have nothing but praise for UE costumer support even if they could send tips using less expensive carriers..

EDIT: I was charged 9.00 USD shipping for international delivery of comply tips using semi express (5 days) mail to Scandinavia.

hoosterw, I'm sorry that you haven't got any answers yet, but I think you should give them some more time than just 1 day to answer your e-mails.
Usually they're pretty fast, though.

I guess you inquired the prices of the German and the Dutch distributors?
If your tries to contact those three (UE & distributors) completely fail - which is unlikely - I might help you as I've just ordered a pair of UE10s from the German distributor, Fischer Amps, and I hadn't any problems with contacting Mr.Fischer.
So let's see whether they answer your e-mails or not - if not I might order a pair of foamies and send them to you.

Ciao,
Marcus

Who told you I did continue to order? I did not.
As to duties, if the total value of the contents is below 50€ and if it is non-business it is duty free anyway regardless of what is in the package, here in NL anyway. So this would never implies duties.

It was a NL and a UK distributor.

Dass wurde sehr nett sein von Ihnen.
