So I came across this review on Amazon while reading about Sony MDRZX300.

Is this the kind of review that consumers find the most helpful?

All it takes is a celebrity to glorify a plastic necklace,
and to make it even worse, "As good as Beats by Dr.Dre" to prove a headphone worthy for purchase.

Also, it seems "protected box" and "tremble" are deciding factors as well.

Sadly, yeah, you wouldn't believe the number of Beats I see around campus when I'm heading to class each day.

I gotta wonder where they've been ordering stuff from so that a "protected box" is actually a positive for the review.

Pretty much. Slap a rappers name on them and watch them fly. I can give him the benefit of the doubt on tremble, could be an autocorrect failure.

Completely agreed. I'm a college student and Beats are the most prevalent. (as I'm sure it has been previously discussed) But I can see how people are beginning to steer away from the hype.

But it is really upsetting to see a review like this that a vast number of consumers think is "helpful".
As a head-fi community member, one should give a thorough review on such sites as Amazon to give the general public a better review than the one above.

I know, right? Sometimes I read the reviews on Amazon, and I'm left scratching my head. I don't even read them any more if I'm purchasing a product like this on Amazon or a similar site. I might glance over a review or two on Head-Fi, but sometimes I just like to be surprised.

About the college point. It's odd because when I was at college, (graduated about a year ago), I only saw a few pairs of Beats and the likes on campus. I did however see a few pairs of Grados, to my surprise.
