I have two linear power supplies that I really like but have an issue with the brightness of their displays. I was looking for a cheap way of dimming them so that they don't light up my bedroom and don't cause glare during the day when I'm using my computer.
I purchased an A5 sheet of car window tint film. It was a sample sheet and cost me 99p GBP delivered from eBay. The tint value was 5%, meaning it only passes 5% of the light through.
Here are the before and after pictures. This first LPS has two layers of the film as the display was exceptionally bright.

Second power supply needed just one layer of the tint film:

I don't know if this tip will help anyone out there or not, but I thought I'd post it anyway in case others have very bright displays on their power supplies and are looking for a cheap and easy way of dimming them.
