Hi all,

the digital out diode is emitting at all times on my NS500V, as expected. I have it enabled because I am using the coax out for my DI/O.
the unit came with a little black plastic part that went into the diode socket.

my question is: does it matter if I have that black part inserted or not? it seems like it should not. my guess is that it avoids the red light emitting from the back of the unit, and nothing else, but I'd rather know for sure.

the little black plug is only there to keep out dust, it doesn't have any effect on the unit's performance. Also, the diode doesn't have anything to do with the coax out, only the optical out.

thank you for your reply. I guess I was wondering if it was a 'terminator' for the plug.
