Does anyone have some experience on this extension card for SB's.

In attempt to track down what was compatible with the 10pin SPDIF_IO connector on my own and many other sound blaster cards, I eventually found another solution that goes by the name SOYO SY-AUDI001. There are some currently on Amazon for $18.
There is nothing mentioned of this anywhere in creative documentation. SPDIF_IO seems to be a lurking standard developed for internal PC connections because its found on motherboards as well as sound cards.


If one only needs SPDIF output via coaxial this is easy enough to do, simply tie a ground pin and the SPDIF_OUT pin to a coaxial jack: (full tutorial here).
