Digital Audio Players have their personality/Balanced?

    Fiio publishes the specs. You're close on the voltage - well out on the impedance.

    Line output Level 1.7 Vrms (10 KΩ/1 kHz)

    So how would that affect an 11 ohm impedance IEM?

    Depends on the IEM. They have an impedance curve as well. Some also have crossovers etc which can all come into play. Generally speaking though a line-out is designed for output to an amplifier - not a transducer. So in simple terms - use the headphone out for earphones/headphones - thats what its there for. Use lin-out to another amp - thats what its there for.

    I very strongly suspect the 10Kohm/1khz is how they measured the 1.7V, and not the line out impedance. :wink:

    Yeah - that probably makes more sense (d'oh moment). I guess thats why they don't publish an actual line-out impedance - as you shouldn't be using headphones with it anyway.
