digi003 - for k701 or hd650

hi all,

it's kind of a strange question but i gotta ask, i have a digi003 (protools) rack, which i use for my home studio.
i'm about to buy headphone, k701 or hd-650 and i read in a few places that the headphones amp is a factor in the whole setup, the question is if the digi003 considered an amp for the headphones? or are there people using another piece of hardware between the digi003 and the headphones?

I think that the digi003 is like a emu0202 / 0404, which are a dac + amp monitor thing (correct me if im wrong).

so basically, IF you have a dedicated amp, it will for sure be better, but if not, im pretty sure it is possible to use the digi003 as an amp subsitute.

Don't bother with an additional amp, the performance of the 003 is going to match anything except the highest quality headphone amps. Furthermore, do you really want to be monitoring the colouration of an additional amp?
