As it heats up here I'm noticing that my headphones sound completely different in the heat compared to when the temperature's a little more bearable. It can be above 40°C (that's 104°F for all you strange people

).

In the heat I'm noticing that my headphones sound darker and the bass is much lighter but the soundstage is WAY wider. I'm guessing that this is due to the air density, but I'm mainly curious to see if anyone else has noticed this.

are you saying your room heats up to 40 deg C?
btw: i have noticed that things sound different when they are warm and when the temperature is warm, but nothing drastic like you're describing. i think it might have to do with your physiology (most likely the ear pinna, among other things) and your psychological state rather than the gear.

In summer my room can get pretty damn toasty, and Aus is having a hot summer. My room at my mums house gets even hotter. I wouldn't be surprised if I've hit 45 in my room at mums.
