I've been buying and rebuilding iPods.  My iPod of choice is the 5th gen classic video, either the 5th or the 5.5.  Lately I've come across an issue with the new, replacement face plates where they don't quite sit flush on the click wheel like the original face plate did.

My question is, does it matter which version of the 5th I have in regards to the face plate, are there 2 different part numbers for these units, or is it a case of a knock-off face plate not being 100% accurate like the original?

I want to make them look as nice as the perform, but I'll forgo the face plate if I can't make it sit flush.

I have the same issue with the replacement back plate of my iPod 5G. I believe that, for all intents and purposes, the iPod 5.5G was simply a 5G with a larger hard drive and a larger back plate to accommodate it. The faceplate should be 100% identical.

Now, the likelihood of a cheap Asian-made replacement not being made to exacting specifications? That's pretty high.
