Differences between AKG k271 studio and AKG k271 mkII ?

I believe it is the addition of a second (coiled) cable, and a set of velour earpads. The headphones themselves are the same.

I liked the older ones more, but they seem sold out everywhere...

This is definitely correct. I have both the old version and new version(MkII).

I would just go with the new MkII.

If the headphones themselves are the same, but you get it with both sets of pads, why would you like the older one better? Now, "older" in terms of using different drivers...
