HI, all:
My friend just recommend couple professional cd player to me:

Marantz PMD-320£¨321, 340£© Professional
Tascam CD450 Professional CD Player

According to the introduction it is pretty impressive. So what's the difference between professional use and home use? And how do compare to same-price-range audiophile player£¿

Usually the emphasis on pro gear is that it be able to take a licking and keep on ticking, sounds good is another matter. Audiophile gear tends to have the emphasis on sounding good but much less emphasis on being able to survive the rigors of professionaly usage.

and pro players have many more features:

1. balanced outs
2. 3 forms of digital outs: optical, coax, and aesebu
3. word clock input
4. hotter outputs +4dbu as opposed to -10dbu for consumer gear
5. rackmount

there's more. it depends on your player though.
