On Sundays they have a concert series on HDnet and yesterday they had both New Order and The Cure live. The Cure was a 2008 concert and had a couple of songs I had never heard before. New Order must have been very recent too because they look older than in my Live At Finsbury Park DVD and that isn't from too long ago. Each concert was only one hour long so it wasn't a full concert but still good to watch in HD and the sound was decent too, especially The Cure. Gordon Sumner needs to get some new clothes though.

Yea, you need HDTV though to get it. I have Shaw HDTV.

We do have an lcd but its not gonna do much difference since we don't have an hdtv service yet in our area

That sucks because standard def TV looks crap on an HDTV, especially LCD. With HD cable you get a mixture of both but much prefer to watch in HD.

yup, it will probably be at least another 5 years before we have hd on our island

Oh well, at least you still get the benefit of the correct aspect ratio and higher res with DVD and BluRay. I use an LCD projector and have my screen at 62" currently and standard res TV looks real grainy at that size. If my room was larger I would use 100"+ size screen.
