i just received my sr-325i's from ttvj.com on march 31, 2006. the headband looks like the wide leather one that comes on the rs-2 and rs-1. is this the normal size that comes with the 325i's now? or am i just seeing things?

Looks like it did! You lucky fella. The wide band is MUCH more comfortable than the thin one for the metal Grados... I wonder if they're doing them all like this right now?

Nope, most come with thin unpadded leather. I actually prefer the pleather cheaper one to it simply because it covers more of your head and displaces the weight better.

No, this guy got the headband reserved for the RS series!

Isn't that bump under the padding just the metal? My MS2i may have been more pushed down than most, but it wasn't padded at all as far as I could feel. Seemed like just metal in leather.

Mine is also like yours ryanhayn. Bought those in January. My serial no is 3266. Maybe the later batches got this as a standard?

My MS2i headband seems to be lightly padded.

Of course, I just purchased this a week ago.

But they don't seem to be as wide as the one in the picture above.

No. There is similar padding than the RS series have. It's not as comfortable because the headband is thinner but still there's a padding.

Huh... well maybe Usagi (the previous owner) just wore them really tightly!

LUCKY YOU!!!
Thats the RS1/2 headband.
Periodically they will make the 325i with that headband.
The "normal" MS2 / 325 stitched headband is thinner.

There are forum members who would die for that headband on their MS2 / 325. The Aluminum earcups are heavy and the standard headband is a scalp burner.

Congrats on your score
Garrett
