Hello All,

I sold a Schitt Asgard 2 on Ebay that had a headphone connection that was intermittent. You would lose a channel, then you'd fiddle with the headphone connection to the amp and it would go away for a while. I tried to note this in my original listing:

It sold and then I got this complaint from the buyer - see the attached photo

Do you think my listing sufficiently described the problem to potential buyers? I honestly want to know so I can decide how to proceed with the refund and return that the buyer is requesting.

Thanks All.

This is just me.... But I would not have sold it period. You were upfront about the problem but is a gray area for people who just don't understand this type of issues. With that said you "kinda" covers your self. TBH: Dont seek approval from the community. You should know what is right and what is wrong. Follow your gut.

Technically you might be in the right and the selling price was low, but it's also kind of a gray area.I suggest you make whatever deal you can with the buyer, that would make sure the buyer leaves positive feedback.
If that comes to be taking back the Asgard and refunding the money, then do it.
Maybe you might be able to do a partial refund and the buyer will ship the Asgard to Schiit.
Or take the Asgard back and do the refund and ship the Asgard to Schiit yourself.

If you simply listed it as defective instead of 'used' and with a no-returns, no-warranty policy, you would have been fine.

When selling headphones on eb@y, I would list them as defective even if it's just worn out ear pads just so there's no debate about the condition of the item.
It probably won't sell for as much as you'd like, but saves you a lot of stress.

From your point of view it was still somehow working, but I know from owning hundreds of headphones that not every TRS plug behaves the same and they are not made equally. So there is a possibility that his plugs aren't producing the same results yours did.
So this might just be one of those 'learning experiences' you can't really plan for or predict.

Yes. Unfortunately, you messed up.

There were two choices (also summarized above by the other posters):
1. Fix the amp and sell as 100% operating condition, but used.
2. List the amp as defective and accept a smaller sale price.

As they said, you did something in-between and are suffering the consequences.
