I got these aiwas, http://www.us.aiwa.com/default.asp?p...oduct&prod=392 for $30 in Best Buy. I wanted a headphone with these qualities;

1) Closed.

2) Wouldn't overload a portable.

3) Good quality.

4) Below $50(49.99 doesn't count.

I found these, and tried a few in the store, the sony MDR V300s, even the MDR V700s were not my taste at ALL! So much treble it sounded like hissing, and the bass was distorted, sounded like a 2 year old played with the EQ.

They sound pretty good, just want to see the opinion of the experts here.

At work I use a pair that looks just like those, except I think they are the 222's. Your 223's must be the newer version. They're not too bad; I prefer them to the supposedly great-for-the-price ($20) Philips HP170's, so they can't be too bad of a deal. I like that they don't leak much sound at all so they're good for work. My main problem with them is that at home I use Sennheiser HD600's amped by a Little, and they are just in another league entirely (of course they have the corresponding price tag). But for buying headphones from Best Buy and for that price range, I think you made a good choice

Enjoy your new phones, they were all I used till I found this site, and they did a good job.

Yey, I didn't get ripped off for once! Woweey, better than my CD-P experience. AIWA is the suck for anything but headphones lately.

I use a pair of those with my computer; they're tolerable for my application.

"Aiwa" changed their logo design. The new one looks much better to me.

I used a pair of AIWA HP-A091's simply because I needed something until my 50's arrived. WORST.HEADPHONES.EVER. The box says it has an "enhanced bass boost" or something. No bass whatsoever. Bad quality. Uncomfortable. Cheesy. Don't get them. Also, I should not they broke after about a week (cushions fell off and driver kept popping out of its case.
