found a cheap pair of bayers but would like to know if anyone actually knows what they are ?
they look exactly like the current pro line but have 600 ohm printed on them instead of 250. all research points to these not existing.

I believe the Premiums came out in 2005, so maybe up till then every model DT990 was Pro?

Some stores claim to sell a 600 Ohm DT990 Pro version, for example here and here, although I am not sure if these are reliable (i.e. really 600 Ohm, original, not refurbished, etc.; the first link seems to be an authorized distributor, though).

The pictures in both ads are of the Pro 250-Ohm.

Pictures are often not reliable or up to date, they are there mainly to give an idea of what the product looks like. It is not surprising if they do not create new pictures specifically for the different impedance versions, and instead just use the same file for all. I think at least the first link I posted could very well be selling legitimate 600 Ohm Pro models that they got through some special deal.

I have seen and touched them.

Nice link to DT990 Premium 600-Ohm.

Did a translate on the first link, they do explain the box says 250-Ohm, but the headphones inside are 600-Ohm.

I think only the vintage Pro models have the 600Ohm rating. You could always buy the DT990 Pro assembly without the drivers, then buy the 600Ohm drivers and pop them in. They do fit in there perfectly.
