It hurts my eyes and my soul to see such a perfection screwed up with an ugly headband.
This is an insult  (just kidding).

When someone doesn't like the headband, I mean when it is uncomfortable, someone can of course use an alternate headband for better enjoyment.
But I am pretty sure there are some better alternatives than the one used in the video.

I wonder what a new headband for DiPhi costs (repair service when the leather one day breaks).
I personally would rather pay the price one day before I use any protection. The design is just perfect and for me it is very comfortable.

I recently picked up the Black Dragon balanced cable for my DiPhi. Versus the stock cable it made a very big difference, however I am sure part of that was my Bryston amp is vastly better when using a balanced cable.

I hope I will experience the same.

Nice to hear. I really like the amp, but I currently only have a set of focal clears to pair it with. I don’t think they work with it as well as the gsx mini.

Nah, I never heard gsx mini actually. On gsx mk2, for my taste it's a bit too much of good thing (too impactful), that not really good when my mood call for slow chinese / japanese songs. The speed and soundstage was excellent with gsx though.

OMG.. this solved my comfort issue when wearing glasses :gs1000smile:\\ Best 10 bucks spent! and I can remove anytime as it wont damage the headband

Nice... how does it stay in place... I would think that glue would not be great on the wonderful underside of the band... I picked up one of the pads from Amazon that people mentioned earlier in this thread. It looks like the pad is about the same as this, maybe not quite as wide. It has a very unassuming band that wraps around the head band to hold it in place. It simply zip locks and seems to work very good.

Its a 3M double-faced tape. It seems to stick very well without damaging the leather headband.

I discovered a neat tuning solution yesterday. I was using my DiPhi’s out in the garden and it was a hot day so I occasionally lifted the earpads away from my face to create a flow of air. I noted a change in frequency response and I found that sticking my thumbs under the pads at the lower front corner gave improved bass response without messing up the rest of the range.

Intrigued by this and the need for ventilation on such a hot day, I dug out some large pasta tubes from the kitchen and found that I could position them perfectly under the pads to improve bass as well as generating an airway for ventilation. It isn’t uncomfortable and you actually forget that the tubes are there after a while. I went into the kitchen to get a drink and my wife looked at me and said ‘is that pasta?’. When I confirmed that it was, she shook her head and said ‘you’re weird!’ and walked off into another room.

I intend to patent this idea and will be selling the tubes in packs of 3 pairs in different sizes to suit tuning preference and head size! 😁 Joking aside, this is quite neat - give it a try. You may be pleasantly surprised.

IMO, this headphone show reviewer is actually reviewing the sound of the system set-up, not the headphone.

Joshua Valour does a better job in describing his experience...

Steve Guttenberg...

Do you mean that in terms of how they present their views or more in the sense of how they factor the source into the equation? Josh expresses his views more closely in relation to how he experiences the music, whereas Resolve views things more analytical and in comparison to a target curve. In terms of source Josh seems to have access to a lot more resources and so can more easily test out how the Phi scale with truly high end equipment.

Just curious. I have been looking into doing headphone review, but it is more complicated than with IEMs because of how the different elements (e.g. headphones, amp, DAC) can have an effect on the end result. Some headphones also seem to be more responsive to the source (Phi) while with others it is less critical (V2), which makes it more challenging to build up a comprehensive picture of headphones like the Phi.
