Hi, is this standard box cable or something custom? Plugs look different from usual ones.
It’s a custom Viking weave cable - 8Wire Fehu from @skedra

Glad I opted for the TC, the most technically adept of the Dianas.

I have heard this analogy:

MR-->nearfield
DZ-->monitors
TC-->floor standers

Diana DZ project soundstage noticeably wider and deeper than Diana TC.

1266 TC on the other hand, feel like a floor stand when compare to Diana series.

Had a nice listening session with the MK 433 tonight. It definitely holds it weight against the Agartha with the DZ.

I actually can’t get enough of the DZ, and on those rare occasions I do listen to my ZMFs I find myself missing something and quickly return to them.

Had a good session, too, with the M-k 433 and the TC [w/bass ported vegan ear pads]. Overall, I think that the Neumann NDH-30 [w/Fog City Audio cable] is better matched with the 433. Using either the un-ported leather or ported leather ear pads, the TC can sound a bit sharp with the M-k.

Waiting for a TC vs. DZ comparison with respect to resolution/detail.

What about resolution of DZ vs. TC?
I'd say it really depends on your preferences.... Overall the TC has definetly more of a "focused" detail retrieval. So yes, it's a bit more "raw" and I'd say technically better. If that is your number one goal -> TC. But with the much smaller soundstage oftentimes instruments "overlap" or one instrument is playing in front of another... For me this makes analytical listening (e.g. one specific instrument) really hard.

The DZ on the other hand has maybe 5% less resolution but therefore a giant soundstage (+250%). So "details" are much more spread and easier to listen to.

(In additon I feel like the DZ slams harder, maybe because the driver is more efficient. And the mids are more linear.)

I tried the diana dz and found it really hard to get a good fit as the headphone adjustments were just way too short, resulting in the earpads barely forming a seal. Is there any chance there is a version that will fit wider heads :sweat:. kind of sad these only extend by so little

Two possibilities, one is to note the ear pad shape will break in and conform over time to your head shape, which takes time. If you purchase a used set it’s best to start with a new set of ear pads otherwise the pads are formed to the original owner. Two is to contact us, given a head shot of the fitment on your head we can offer customized options.

Also note a good seal is not top priority with our headphones, given you have an amp with enough power our speaker drivers will compensate, similar to using bass ported ear pads. In fact the bass ported pads will more even out any breaks in seal, they tend to be a very popular option with any Diana.

Am really enjoying my Diana TC--especially with the bass-ported ear pads(!).
Not sure if I am willing to relinquish the TC's extra measure of resolution for the DZ's extra measure of perceived space.
I find the TC's soundstage ample and well-apportioned enough as it is . . .

@pataburd that is totally fine. The TC is an exceptional headphone. Had the TC over a year and for me (in 1:1 competition) it won against HEKv2, Caldera, Expanse, Utopia... (Which basically means it is the best <5k headphone ^^). Personally I only had 2 complains from the very beginnig.

1. The comfort. -> Fixed this with a beautiful audio magnetic headband. (The Abyss Headstrap for the latest models fixed this too.)
2. The Soundstage / Separation. I personally love huge soundstages. Especially with rock / metal where a lot is going on simultaniously (main genre). Listening to some singer songwriter / arcoustic sets the more intimate presentation can actually be benefitial.

Altough -I- think the DZ is overall "better" that must not be true for everyone.
