DFX Sample Rate/Bit Depth Override?

I have DFX. I see in the properties that the sample rate/bit depth is 24bit/48Hz, but my Realtek onboard sound card has a max of 24bit/128Hz. Would the DFX sample rate/bit depth override the onboard sound card's sample rate/bit depth?

I am not familiar with DFX, is this a sound program with settings or a program that uses it's own sound format. From what I can see, your audio is just being ran through this program after the initial route from the sound card. If that is the case it will most likely down convert to 24/48Hz which I will be surprised if there is any audio differences besides the settings/equalizer ect..
