Been up and down in this, but the latest is that I let Anson know it was going to cost as much to ship the unit from the U.S. to China as it would cost to buy a new unit, so I wasn't going to send it to him for repair. I expected that was the end of it, bit he emailed me information on someone in California to whom I should send it. Haven't sent it yet, likely in the next few days. So, hope had been rekindled...

My DTR1 have died too. It have sung his last song just before Xmas. It have discharged and refused to turn on after charging. That's all. Power button doesn't do anything too. The Reset button and keyboard shortcuts do not help. Unfortunately it died just 14 months after I bought it and now warranty period is over.

You can contact Anson directly, I have contacted him several times and asked some software questions about DTR1. He is very nice and like to share some info with audiophiles. I think he should help you.

I think DTR1 quality is poor. This is my second player. I used it very carefully but it died. The first one periodically froze, and I had to revive it with the reset button. I changed it under warranty. So I have a bitter experience although I liked the sound of my player.

The charger is included in the box. It’s a special charger. You cannot charge the DTR1 via USB.

The wall charger is custom designed with +8.6V (600mA) and -8.6V (300mA) outputs for quick charging the internal higher voltage batteries. You only can charge the DTR1 with this specific wall charger. It’s not possible via USB.

Yes, it is the one you have posted. Just ask for european plug:

I'm thinking a lot of the issues comes from the QC of the charger... Mine works but does have a tiny hum with load applied. The charging circuit is inside that charger to save room for the double batteries and smaller size of the unit.
