Dethonray Dtr1 Prelude high resolution player

I tried changing the charger (I have the European Charger that I plug in with a US adaptor). Tried changing to another adaptor. Would this be time to use something like the reset hole?

My DTR-1 seems to just have died. Doesn't seem to charge, power button doesn't do anything. I bought it used-likely just out of luck. Man...

sorry to hear that. Let me know how you resolve your problem. I’m curious cause I went through some absolutely crap customer service with Blue Mic for the Blue Mo-Fi Headphones.

Yes, try resetting it. Otherwise, contact Anson via the Dethonray official website. Good luck.

The reset is one of those little holes you stick a paper clip or some other thin metal in, correct?

OK, tried it, didn't do anything. I had thought maybe I should buy the American charger, but I doubt that will make a difference either (the adaptor is working fine). How do I reach Anson?

Let me know how the service goes with Anson cause once my AK JR kicks the bucket one day I’m considering this player. I really like the streamlined no bells and whistles efficiency. Of course customer service is a good insurance investment with the purchase.
Really hope all goes well, Doctor Jazzyman!

I think some people earlier in thread had similar issue. Had it gone unused for a decent period of time? Have noticed that smaller electronics makers seem more likely* to have issues with battery protection circuit (or just low quality batteries) that result in dead devices if they sit in a drawer for too long.

(At least I've had this happen a few times... meanwhile my Sansa Clip once sat in a drawer for several years and still had a 70% charge on it  )

I actually use it pretty much every day, have enjoyed it with my Westone W60. Back to my Pono for now...

Did you try the reset button next to the headphone jack?

edit: never mind...I was way behind in the conversation.

Welcome to the club! I bought mine new. Still waiting on the "repair" from our local dealer for two months now. Software/firmware is being blamed. I doubt it tho.
I bought mine used, so I have even less recourse than you did (not that you were successful, so far. Wishing you luck).
My previous experience with buying from a Chinese company, quite a while ago, was that it took forever for it to get done. I had to send it a few times. The last time it disappeared and I couldn't find my shipping information.
I stayed away until now...

Thanks, I did go to the site and send that message earlier. Not really expecting much, though, have to say.

If Anson does not come back to you before x-mas, send me a pm.
