hello,
i am looking for DAP to fit in my two 200gb microSD cards and that i can use later with my laptop to play audio using that DAP connected with USB DAC feature enabled.
it is okay if it does not have balanced.

    i checked:
    - fiio x7 - all models have issues with background noise. have usb DAC feature. only one microSD.
    - onkyo dp-x1 - sounds sooo nice. no usb DAC features. have two microSD slots.
    - opus #1 - sounds okay. two microSD, no usb DAC feature.
    - ibasso dx80 - sounds worse then all players above. noticeable with cheap'ish IEMs. dual microSD and usb DAC as wanted but it just does not sound right.
    - fiio x5 (gen1 and gen2) - hurr durr who designed that interface? who called that thing a DAP? what is wrong with that brick? can i play my image+cue? what is wrong with that display? where is all the nice things gone? ... have dual microSD and usb DAC but i personally can not use that brick. sounds unacceptable.

that's it? is there something else?
my budget is around 1k$ or less.

Look into the Cayin N5. With nearly 400Gb of music, you may have to browse through folders until the firmware is updated. Check out the dedicated thread on it.

thanks, i will try it.
looks like local shops have it available right now.

maybe there is something else? that controls are kinda strange :)

I've been using my AK120ii for a year this September. It has a sound that still fulfills me, even after all the DAPs and desktop DACs I've heard.

128GB internal storage + one microSD slot
USB DAC function.

Beautiful and functional interface.

Single-ended and Balanced output.

If you buy used, you can often find it for $1000

If you didn't need it to be a DAC also the Queststyle QP1R is one of the best sounding DAP's out there and has two card slots .
tried today. found out that design is horrible for my taste (i can not use it properly). i asked guy to come with QP1, not QP1R to coffee shop from local community to let me try it. i left unsatisfied.

thank you for recommendation. i came back to the shop and compared them both. decided to stick to dp-x1. i can expand storage to the higher extent, comes with android.

usb dac feature is a killer feature but i think for the price difference between Onkyo DP-X1 and AK120ii - i can get something like Sony PHA-3

Just announced today with firmware update QP1R will have a USB DAC function after all.
