Hey guys!

Been browsing the forums a bit and I've noticed that some of you are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff, so here goes...

I am going to be purchasing the K702's very soon (within a week) and need some advice on a desktop amp. I have a receiver but figured an amp would do them proper justice.

Would a receiver be ok? Would I get the full enjoyment with a receiver?

I am going to assume the answer to that is no. So I was looking at this tube amp... http://tinyurl.com/6o3s89m from Amazon. Would this be sufficient?

Or would I need something with a bit more juice? Go easy on me, I'm a bit knew to all this stuff.

If this is not a great choice, what would you guys recommend within that same price range?

Probably not: http://www.head-fi.org/t/558176/akg-k702-w-hi-fi-man-ef2a-combination

Countless threads here but for around that price range I remember the amps that have good feedback for driving the K701/K702 are the Matrix M-Stage and Ibasso Toucan. The M-Stage has a version II and a USB DAC option, so you an use it to bypass the soundcard on a computer. There could be others but I haven't read the K702 thread lately.

*he said it did over time but from my own experience that was the earpads flattening and softening, as I've heard one on worn pads and it sounded almost like my HD600, but unfortunately without the K701's more precise staging and depth

I'm enjoying my Q701s witha Matrix M Stage!

I also like the Q701s with a La Figaro 336C
