I've been using my iBasso DX50 to run my DT880s and I love the sound I'm getting, but clearly they could use an amp with a little more oomph. I plan on using the DX50 as my source, or in DAC mode to play audio from my computer. I don't have a budget specifically in mind but as many of the cheap amplifiers I'm looking at have great reviews, I don't see much point in spending over $150.

Right now I'm looking at: Magni, Vali, O2...  any suggestions?

I suggest the Bravo audio V2. Cheap, looks nice and makes a good match for Beyers.

I'm using DT880 250 ohms with O2 amp/dac combo, which would also drive things up to 600 ohm I hear. With the 250 ohms I rarely turn up the volume higher than 9-10 o'clock on low gain. Can't really give comparisons but they say O2 is a very neutral amp if you like the colorization of your setup otherwise. At least it's really cheap if nothing else.

My O2 drives my 600-Ohm Beyer headphones.

O2 is a solid performer if you choose the Solid state route,

Any suggestions for a tube amp in the same price range? How does the Vali pair with these cans?

Might try reading up and asking on this thread.
