Hey guys,

I bought a pair of Denon dn-hp 700 three years ago after reading  dweaver's thread (http://www.head-fi.org/forums/threads/add/forumId/7840) and I really liked it except for its comfy issues. I used it on a daily basis until recently, it was broken and cannot be fixed. So I decided to find a replacement of this DJ headphone and I found out that Denon just upgraded their HP series -- Denon DJ HP 600, 800 and 1100 end of last year.

I have also heard people saying that Denon DN-HP 700 is just similar to ATH-pro500 and Denon DN-HP 1000 is just similar to ATH-pro700 since they are all manufactured by audio-techinca (http://www.head-fi.org/t/659233/why-all-the-ath-m50-but-not-denon-dn-hp700). However, they also say ATH-pro700 is just flat which is nothing like Denon DN-HP1000.

I use these DJ headphones to listen to mainly rock and metal (Rocks: concrete blonde, guns and roses etc. Metal: Xjapan, Nightwish, Blind Guardian, Amon Amarth etc). I also own an ATH-ad900x for classic and musical.

I have the following questions:

1.     What is the difference between the old Denon HP series and the new HP series in general?

2.     What is the difference between HP800 and HP1100 in sound quality?

3.     Did the comfy issue get fixed in the new HP series?

4.      What is the difference between HP series and ATH-pro 500, 700?
5.      Can you replace the pad of ATH-pro700, HP1000 and HP1100 with ath-m50’s?
6.      What do you recommend to buy among the Denon old HP series, new HP series and Ath-pro500, 700?

Thanks in advance.
