I had just taken my headphones off to place on the side when all of a sudden the right ear came off. It appears the tiny screw that holes the cup to the headband had become stripped. Its the screw that holes the swivel part of the cup to the headband. What the hell am i suppsed to do now? Theres no way I'm gonna find a screw that fits?

There is a little nut that goes on that screw if it's anything like the D5000. A similar thing happened to my D5000 and I know there was a thread where is happened to other D5000 owners.

Look for a post by bootleg. He has directions and pics on how to fix this. I'm can't find the post ATM, but it's around. Sorry to hear about your D2000s. There's another thread that talks about the build quality as well. If I find the post I'll be sure to link it for you.

Every time I pick mine up (very carefully) I fear this happening now.

Let us know what you did about it.

I had suggested in the other thread and I will suggest it here, an easy preventive measure. Use something like green Loctite so the screws won't come out. I've used Loctite on the screws on my glasses because they would eventually work themselves loose and my lens would pop out. After a tiny dab of Loctite - the problem is history.

I recall reading in the other thread (link posted a few posts above) that there are different colours, and therefore types, of Loctite. Is the green Loctite you recommend permanent, or can it be unglued in the future if the need be (semi-permanent)?

Even though there wouldn't be much need to undo the glue in the future, it's still reassuring to have that ability.

What are you talking about? This is head-fi! You know you'll eventually upgrade the cable, so you might want to make sure its not permanent.

I just threw some blue loctite in there. It is rated as semi permanent. You can break it just by applying a decent amount of force on it. All you have to do is heat it up real quick to get loctite to loosen up any ways. I used a bunch of the permanent stuff on paintball gear then I had to go back and take the part off and I just used a heat gun for a couple seconds. A hair dryer works too. I really dont think it is that unacceptable of an issue either. Its an easy quick fix. Screws come out after a while. They should include a replacement screw or two though.

That's because you are a fanboy.

I just bought my brand new S class. Buy my tire fell off when I parked it. Its ok though, I just put it back on, and welded the lugs on. If I have to take those tires off again, I'll just get the plasma cutter. No harm done.

Geez, you expect way too much from a manufacturer. Sure, they should've included some extra lug nuts in case they fell off while you were going down the road and couldn't find them later, but if they weren't supposed to fall off then they wouldn't have made them removable, now would they?

I'm sorry but I find your analogy to be extreme to say the least.

I realize some people can be pissed because something like this happens after spending $250+ on a pair of headphones but we are not talking about a driver going bust. Though I suppose sticking to your analogy that would be akin to the engine blowing up. At least lower the make to an Acura.
