I love my D2000 and would have kept them forever but I gave them away to a disabled parent who loves music.
 
Anyway after reading various reviews here I've narrowed it down to either the B&W P7, V-Moda M-100, Denon AH-MM400, or ATH-ES10. I really like a high energy sound with bass and warmth. Music genres pretty much span everything but mostly metal, indie, and occasional hip hop. Which can should I go with? Thanks!

Mr. Speakers Mad Dogs is what I'd recommend-M100's no way and also Denon AH-MM400.
 
D2000's were designed by Fostex but the new Denons are not . 
 
Mad Dogs are modified Fostex cans and sound much more expensive than they are.

Thank you. Is the Mad Dog Pro a worthy upgrade over the Mad Dog for my purposes? Are either better than the Denon AH-MM400. I can get an amp if I need to.

Hmm. Now I'm thinking Moda m100 or NAD VISO HP50. Coming from a D2000 which would be better?

I have had and enjoyed my NAD VISO HP50's for several months, and recently got my hands on a Denon D2000. Both sound great, but I think you may be disappointed going from D2000 to NAD, as the sound is different. It is true Mr. Speakers uses Fostex drivers, but it uses a Fostex ortho-dynamic (planar) driver, whereas Denon D2000 uses a Fostex dynamic driver. Same company, but totally different driver technology.
 
Here's my question as a guy that just picked up a D2000 for $200 used. If you loved the D2000, why not buy another used one for yourself?

I want to try something different and was seeing if any of these were good upgrades. Better controlled bass, more slam, better isolation etc etc.

Gotcha. NAD VISO has better isolation, but I'd say that's it compared to D2000. I'm having a hard time going back to NAD after hearing D2000. On my setup, NAD has good smooth sound, but sounds out of focus now after hearing D2000.

Drop by your local Apple Store. They often have the P7s on demo hooked up to an iPod.

Fostex TH600 is the most direct D2000 upgrade.

P7 is also a good choice for bass, warmth, and energy. It is warmer than the TH600 with fuller midrange.

I'd also suggest the Oppo PM3 for something in the same vein but cleaner sounding.
