I am pretty sure the copper inside the stock D2k cable is just OFC.  I read this somewhere before, but not sure where.

Yes, this is correct.

·         L/R equal cable connection
High-quality cables of equal length for the L/R channels are used to maintain optimum sound quality.  These are OFC cables enclosed in a cloth mesh jacket.

Became an owner of the D2000s this week and I'm fairly certain I'll be hanging onto them. Had the D5ks a couple weeks ago and sold em not to long after getting them. Not sure why, but I'm enjoying the D2s much more...

Anyone else experience this?

The main difference I found between D2k and D5k was bass. Bass sounded more present and stronger in D5k, almost to the point of adding some bloat.

D2k had slightly less bass presence, but also less bloat. I can see why you'd feel that way. I also felt D2k was slightly more V shaped with a little more recessed mid-range than the D5k.

...you just contradicted yourself.

I guess that bass being more strong on D5k would suggest that it is more V shaped, if that's what you meant.

But I also felt that the mid-range was a little more recessed on the D2k, which made it feel more v shaped.

Idk though, what do you feel is the difference @JoeDoe, since you like D2k more?
