Denon AH-MM400

Looks real nice. Lots of nice premium materials, but that's definitely a premium price you pay vs even the more expensive closed portables out there. God damn do they look great, though. If they sound just as great, I'm sold.

Notice that it's special order, so they probably don't have stock in NA. :O

It's pretty interesting how little information there initially was about these cans and how difficult they are to get in places. They're really nice cans, it seems like without the reviews a few of the people in this thread have made they could've just snuck under the radar entirely.

I am personally a HUGE fan of their sound. I am a huge fan, period. Been on head-fi for a number of years and this is the first time I have felt the need to write a review, because of 2 factors, I felt positively strongly about them as an overall package, and because there lacked info on them across the Web. Rarely have I seen something like this go completely under the radar. I am contemplating doing my first YouTube video on these too given then there's nothing on them there either. I just don't know whether I'm competent enough to do a decent one. Writing a full review on here was my starting point anyway.

Ok. So is it AHM-M400 or is it AH-MM400? I'm seeing both everywhere. Actually, I'm only seeing AHM-M400 on this thread and no where else. I'm a stickler for nomenclature and syntax.

Edit: The box itself says AH-MM400.

I'm planning to replace the original cable from the denon, it's a joke for this price class

This would be my top pick for a high-end 3.5mm replacement cable for the AH-MM400.

It's brown/black color should go nicely with the AH-MM400's dark brown wood earcups.

Another nice thing about it is that it is available in may different lengths.

Or if you don't want to break the bank, this one is always a nice option:

AH-MM400. This thread has been named incorrectly.

ha Let's get an admin on that to get that fixed!

I would like to second (third?) this. Yeah, I'm very interested, but I think a lot of people (including myself) are going to be very hesitant about this can because 1) the price is higher than its competitors and 2) Denon hasn't been a name at the top of anyone's lists since the AH-D5000. The insight will help people get over those humps if it really is that amazing... and I really want it to be that amazing.

Would the jack fit into the headphone cup? Those jacks look like they'd be a little bit too bulky.

Interestingly enough denon seems to use a 4-pole connector in the headphone end as well. Even for the non-mic cable. Don't know if that would affect cable choices as well but it's something to note.

I agree that cable on Amazon looks like it would be the perfect match but I question whether it would make it all the way in to the ear cup. If you get it and it works, let us know. Also note there are triple stripes on the connectors that go into the ear cups for both cables that come in the box.
