Good day,
I have the opportunity to purchase a Denon AH-5000 for just over $350, but there is also a pair of Denon AH-7000 for just over $600.
I have a few questions concerning these two headphones:

1. Which headphone has more sibilance?
2. Which headphone has more bass?
3. If anything, what are the differences?

Thanks!

Hey @chimney189, you may want to check out out this thread for full details:

Essentially, the D2000 and D5000 are very similar, with the same driver, but with different cups which can impact the tuning. I have (2) x AH-D2000s and one has softer and more worn pads, and the sound ends up being different just from that alone - but more or less they are similar.

Also, the AH-D2000 can be scored for really good prices, and just this past weekend I picked one up for practically free! Mostly they go around the 200-250USD range. I think in good condition they are worth it. They have a great sound overall with the bio-cellulose driver and the frame is mod friendly. I like the tuning of the D2000/D5000 which I would describe as linear but shaped. The highs are somewhat sharp and pronounced, but work very well with high-end recordings. Bass is perfect, and doesn't really have a mid-bass bump.

Only others I've heard that are related to D2000 are AH-D600 and TH900. Th900 is very bright and bass happy, but a lot of fun. Not sure its really worth it though, to some it might be, but I feel I get most of the 'bio-cellulose sound' from these drivers without the expense. Ah-D600 I feel is less refined than D2000 but has a lot of the qualities. I had two D600s and the first one I preferred, was a lot of fun - but the D2000 I feel is more proper. D600 is still worth checking out, D7100 less so from a price-to-performance perspective.
