Where did you buy these from? They might be an older version but I'm not sure. I'm not aware any fake hd25s.
My hd25 are also rough in the outer cups but has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As far as I know, there are multiple versions of the hd25. I think the one you got is for studio use, which explains the 1/4 jack and the higher Ohm.
