I own an original LaRocco PPA which I have started to use once again. At present it is being used with an Elpac wallwart (which it originally came with).

How much of an improvement will I see if I move from the wallwart to a dedicated linear regulated supply ie the Tangent STEPS? Is the improvement enough to justify the increased cost?

It does make some increased sound quality going from wallwart to more dedicated linear power supply such as TREAD or STEPS but it is not night and day difference to my ears. I also have LaRocco PPA and tried three different power supplies (wallwart, TREAD and STEPS). I ended up using mostly TREAD power supply because going from TREAD to STEPS was indeed very small difference in sound quality to me.
