Hey All,

Im new here so ill introduce myself. Hi im Daniel and i just became a little bit of an audiophile. So with my new hobby i decided i wanted beginner good speakers along with a cheap and ok Amp. So ive decided on the B&W line because my father has them and they sound great and i like the sound. I went to Audiocom (in Greenwich CT) and discussed three speaker options. I knew i wanted to try the new B&W 685's. And then he showed me the older DM601's and DM602's. While i enjoyed both older ones, the newer ones just sounded a bit crisper to me. Anyways, since the new B&W line came in he offered 15% off retail for the demo units since he has to get rid of them. Which ones would you choose? Has anyone had experience with the 685's since im not the best audiophile just yet. Anyone have any comments or can help me out please post.

Thanks,
Daniel

EDIT: Looking to spend no more than $600 for a pair. 685's are $600. The others are less

I'd go with the newer line, there is a reason the new one sounds crisper, B&W states this is a much improved tweeter in every way. Crisper, yet smoother and more detailed.
