I'm looking to buy a new pair of powered bookshelf speakers. I am currently deciding between the KANTO YU5 and Emotiva Airmotiv 5s. I plan on putting these in a fairly open basement for music listening purposes. I will buy a proper subwoofer after I purchase the speakers so low end is not that big of a worry. I listen mainly to heavy and alternative rock such as Green Day, Paramore, Slipknot, Disturbed, Billy Talent, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Falling in Reverse, and Hollywood Undead being some of my favorites. I would like for them to get fairly loud but maintain solid sound quality. I feel like defined highs would be a heavy factor because alternative rock almost requires good highs or else it can become ear piercing at higher volumes. I do not currently own a dac but I will be purchasing one in the future. All responses are greatly appreciated and I would be glad to help give out anymore info about my audio setup if needed.
